What's the purpose?
Nest Realty is a Wilmington, NC based realty brokerage firm. They asked groups of students to analyze their social media's effectiveness in regards to rhetoric and business communication. Each group could choose a specific topic based on Nest's social media and online presence, as it relates to rhetoric and business communication. My group decided to report on a few of the following things.
After reviewing Nest Realty's online presence and the different social media outlets that it uses to enhance client-broker interaction, we decided to analyze how Nest Realty adapts their social media presence to different platforms, and if this is done effectively. In the report, we will focus on the company's Facebook and Instagram accounts. We will also give the company recommendations on how they might improve their online presence and boost interaction with customers to achieve a better branding. In putting this report together, we had a few preliminary questions for Nest Realty which they responded to via email. .
We intend to conduct a survey via Google that could be posted on Nest's Facebook. We want to gather information on their customers' thoughts about the company and its online presence. Please find the link to the survey here. We thought this would have been helpful for Nest's company because they would receive direct feedback from customers. By limiting it to less than 7 multiple choices questions, it would allow customers to answer them quickly. However, Nest did not approve this idea, so we decided to focus more on their client interaction on Facebook and Instagram.
My overall goal for this project is to create a cohesive, formal report that would be respected and considered business worthy by Nest Realty. Our analysis should be up to par with social media experts and analysts. I also hope to learn how to collaborate in a totally online group project and stay engaged with each of my group members so that our project can be the absolute best it can be.

- Who is your online audience?
- "Our online audience is the greater Wilmington community, both people and businesses."
- What is your target market?
- "Our target market is anyone who is planning on buying or selling a home in the Wilmington area. We use social media to try to connect with prospective buyers and sellers, and our following is generally young and middle aged professionals."
- Does Nest Realty Wilmington have the same online strategy as other Nest Realty brokerages in the U.S?
- "We are the only local firm to use the online strategies and the innovative marketing we have in the area. There are other firms nationally that do, such as William Means in Charleston, and we sometimes check on what they’re doing for ideas we can use here."
- What would you say is your main weakness when it comes to social media?
- "The main weakness of our social media would be generating interaction with the community online. Our use of social media is stronger than others in the area, but it still can be difficult to generate the online interaction we’d ideally like."
- What do you think we can help Nest with most?
- "I think what we most need from you are ideas to strengthen our Facebook and Instagram accounts, and ways to create more interaction with followers."
- Is there any particular area you would like us to analyze deeper?
- "Maybe you could look further into how other firms across the country have successfully used Facebook and Instagram."
